Aikyashree scholarship

Aikyashree scholarship is a wonderful initiative taken by the Government of West Bengal. This project was launched so that the minority community students of West Bengal do not face any financial problems in education. In order to provide greater opportunities for their educational mobility by providing financial support and encouragement to the education of minority communities in the state, the state government has decided to set up ‘Aikyashree’  for minority students. West Bengal Government has launched this project for the talented and poor students of minority communities in West Bengal and these minority communities are Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Sikh, and Persian. More details about this ‘aikyashree scholarship’are discussed below.

The scholarship will be offered in three stages:

  • Pre-matric Scholarship (for the students of Class-I to Class-X)
  • Post-matric Scholarship (for the students of Class-XI to PhD),
  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (available for pursuing technical & professional courses).

Eligibility  Criteria Aikyashree scholarship

For pre-matric Scholarship and Post-metric Scholarship :

  •  Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
  • Applicant must study in any school/institution recognized by any State / Central Government.
  • The final examination should have obtained more than 50% of the total number or equivalent grade.
  • Annual household income should be less than 2 lakh rupees.
  • Students who are studying outside of West Bengal are not eligible for this scholarship.

For Merit-cum-Means Scholarship:

  • Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
  • Applicant must be admitted to a technical/professional course.
  • Applicant must have at least 50% marks obtained in the Higher Secondary or Graduate Examination.
  • Annual household income should be less than 2 lakh.
  • Students who are resident of West Bengal but have studied in a listed institution located outside West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

How to apply for Aikyashree scholarship?

  •  First, the applicant has to visit the website of West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation.
  • Then click on the ‘New Registration‘ option at the top of the side of the screen.
    From this page, the applicant should select his / her district and click on the OK button in the pop-up.
  • A new page will be open, Now here click on the ‘New Registration‘ option again.
  • In this page, the applicant has to fill out a form. Here the applicant’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, mobile number, bank details, etc., should be placed in certain places and click on the ‘Submit and Proceed‘ button.

Aikashree Scholarship

  • In the next page, the applicant has to enter the information such as educational institution, class, annual income of the family, email ID and password, etc. in the specific place and click on the ‘Submit and Proceed‘ button.

  • Now the registration process of the applicant is complete. There will be a user ID given to the applicant. In addition, user ID and password will be sent to the applicant’s mobile number.

  • Then the applicant will have to log in to the account using user ID and password.
  • Here the applicant will have to verify all the information provided by him and click on the ‘Lock Application‘ option.
  • After clicking on the lock application option, click on the ‘Click Here‘ button at the bottom of this page to make the final submission. applicant will not have the opportunity to change any information after making the final submission.
  • Now the applicant has to submit a photocopy of his bank passbook, Aadhaar card, annual family income, self-declaration with the print out of the application form.

Conditions for Aikyashree scholarship

  • A certificate of income of the applicant’s family must be submitted at the time of application.
  • Students must attend school regularly, which will be determined by the competent authority of the school.
  • If a student violates the terms of school discipline or scholarship, he/she will be denied scholarship.
  • If a student has been proven to receive a scholarship through a false statement, his scholarship will be canceled and the amount of scholarship awarded will be restored.
  • Course/tuition fees and maintenance allowance will be deposited directly into the student’s bank account.
